Oh great! did you have to 'nag' the consultant into it, or was it a relatively straight forward 'ok'??

I just had DH. The theatre was full of people anyway, and I don't think anyone else would have fitted. Was having twins though, so that ups the number of medical staff needed.

Hi it was with my first baby and I don't remember having to nag at all but my obstetrician was amazingly amenable (as they all should be). The theatre is busy when you have a c-section but they have been pretty big rooms. My mum sat behind me and my partner sat beside me.

I had my DH and private midwife in theatre. Private midwife there made me feel less like a patient and more like a mother to be, as I got to know her during the pregnancy. Rest of the medical staff in theatre I only met earlier on the morning of the section, or worse still, in the theatre whilst I was lying on the operating table, naked :0

I was only allowed one person each time and was warned if he (dh) looked queasy/faint (not very good in hospitals) they would take him out. However, the hospital where I had my 2 dd's have very bad press coverage re c diff etc so they had strict rules re people in theatre/visiting.

ALthough my mum/dad and brother were all in a waiting room at the end of maternity theatres and dh spoke to them shortly after the arrivals if both dd's (whilst I was being stitched and dd checked over) dd2 had to go to scbu so my parents saw her being wheeled passed before I had had a cuddle

Hmm, well, im not seeing the consultant until im 36 weeks (currently only 28) so i guess its not going to leave much time for negotiations if he's indecisive, would very much like to have them both in there though
