the Show must go on....

I'm 40+15, have had 3 sweeps this week and am trying to avoid induction. I started having a show on Wednesday (first sweep was Mon) and it continues. I've had irregular contractions, mainly overnight since Thursday night which come between 10 mins and 1 hour apart, and die down during the day.

Oh how long can this go on for??!!! Was really hoping to have this baby before Monday when I go in for monitoring and they'll be asking me to choose between a section and induction (neither of which appeal at all - I had both last time and would rather not repeat the experience!).

I am sorry but the irregular cc could mean nothing I had them for two weeks on dd only at night and tailing off in day.

Have you thought whether you are going to be induced or have a section.

If it helps I went into labor two days before my induction up until then I had been walking and doing all the tricks to get things moving and when I had a date I kinda gave up on birth starting naturally and relaxed thinking I had no choice and labor started could you try a really relaxing bath.

sending lots of labor vibes your way.

Yep, I had a feeling that the irregular contractions could continue for days. wouldn't mind, except they are proper painful ones and of course, I face the consultant brigade on Monday.

My DD was induced after 40+13 (failed, emcs) and I'd tried everything to self-induce her, so I've been much more relaxed about it this time. To the point where I wonder if I should be doing more, hence the walk this afternoon.

I really don't know what I'll decide if I'm forced into a decision. I hated the emcs recovery with a passion, and with a toddler I think I'll hate it even more. I told myself I'd never allow myself to be induced again after last time (confined to bed, in one position, CFM, agony) but I'm now wondering if this could be my least worst option. It depends on how they induce after previous cs and I need to go through that with them on Monday. I'm even half tempted by the idea of an epidural if it comes to induction, but then I know that that adds to the risk of nasty interventions. So difficult.

OK after a bit of bedroom action last night, the contractions have got REALLY sore, but are still no more frequent than 10 mins apart. I'm almost maxing out my TENS for some of them .

Phoned MLU and they've kindly told me to stay put until I really can't stand it any more (no timings, etc.) so I tried to sleep between them from 5-10am.

Bored of this now. And sore. And still can't decide if I'm starving or sick.

Grrrr. All died down again when I got up, and kicks off big time when I lie down. I've been trying to catch up on kip upright in a chair this afternoon and been for a (slow) walk. DOn't really know what else I can do.

Sadly, I managed that feat this afternoon.

Currently debating whether to get comfy on the sofa for some DVDs or persist with bouncy ball.

Still feeling really ick. Had a banana, DH cooking up a stir fry but not sure I'm up for that.

Contractions getting stronger again when they do arrive. I can't believe that some people get away with only a few hours of this and that the cxs are likely to get much worse. I feel like I've been through the mill already.
