Have you had two elective c-sections?

I've been booked in for a second elective c-section after having had one nearly five years ago. The consultant said it could be more painful/take longer due to more scar tissue having formed from the first, and that recovery could also take longer. Was this your experience, or was it better/the same as the first time?

3 years between - loads better, recovery super quicker, one paracetamol suppository and off we go!
New cut was about an inch above the old one.

Yes, 3 years apart. Second one was much easier to recover from for me, as I knew what to expect. I rested much more after the last one and I healed more quickly as a result. No more pain than the first (neither were particularly painful, really).

I had 11 years between my first and second and the second was 10 times better. The actual surgery took much longer (i think i was only in for about half an hour the first time and it was more like an hour the next time). Recovery wise I got permission from the doctor to drive again after 2 weeks because I recovered so fast - I do genuinely believe that it had a lot to do with the power of positive thinking and my refusal to sit and mope.

I've had 3. Almost exactly two years between the first two and just under one year between the second and third ones. I healed much faster second and third time around. They did say that the actual op might take longer because of scar tissue but I don't think it was very much longer.

I've had four c-sections. Two emergency and the last two emergency. The last was 57 seconds and dc4 was whipped out by a senior registrar, healing was fine. The worst to heal was the second emergency one, but that was with a GA too.

Third took 37 minutes but that was because they were so quick with dc2's that they weren't careful about scar and organs getting caught.

ive had two emergency c-sections 7yrs apart
the second did take a bit longer due to scar tissue & they opened up the first scar to deliver dc2 . i also had dissolvable stitches on dc2 which healed much quicker that the thread i had on dc1 .

c-sections....Feb 2002, May 2003, Sep 2006, Nov 2008!

I had 2, 2 years apart, both elective. recovery exactly the same.

Had 2, 3 years apart. Recovery the same(except of course i needed lots of help with the 3 year old as didn't just have baby to think of 2nd time round)

I've had two - 14 months apart.

If anything, I'd say the second was better / easier than the first (but I was lucky enough to be able to have the same surgeon / team who did the first and he did say that made it easier for him, because he knew exactly what was what, IYSWIM)

Both of mine were elective.

If I ever am lucky enough mad enough to have another, it will be El CS.

Thanks. I think the consultant gave me the spiel about all the potential drawbacks to repeat c-sections because it's hospital policy to promote VBACS. It's good to hear that it's not as risky as she made it sound.
