help!im sooo tired,my feet wont go to sleep when i want to.spent the second sleepless night watching the clock tick round ,got up four times to just move about ,that helped no end,but all i wanted to do was sleep.looked on the net about restless legs and apparently us lucky pregnant ladies do get it if we are anaemic, which i know i am,been taking iron tablets but how long before feet stop dancing.

Same here - although I'm not quite 3rd trimester. I tried sleeping with pillows under my legs - between my legs. Helps for a little while but not much. ARGH!

i always get this when pg and i get it at times too when im extremely over tired.
They started when i was in labour with dd and the midwife put a fan at my feet and they STOPPED jumping around, since then i have invested in one and it works!! i have it by my bed and when my legs start to jump i stick my feet out by the fan and they stop!!
Worth a try!

I've had restless legs every now and then for years and I used to take homeopathic arnica tablets whenever it was bothering me, which seemed to help (probably psychologically but who cares!) but I don't know if you can take arnica when pregnant.

Sorry - restless finger on the mouse there!

I have this too! IT's SOOOOO annoying, as having difficulty enough sleeping atm anyway. Sure I end up dropping off while doing running movements.

Got it before baby and still do from time to time. usually when I am tired. Notice when I have had a glass of wine that it sometimes irritates it! A couple of paracetamol or similar seems to settle it enough for me to get off to sleep. Its a bugger aint it?

I have this too, fortunately not badly enough to interrupt my sleep too much. Interesting about the fan though - will try that if it gets worse! This is my 3rd pregnancy and never had this before.

I didn't realise this was a pregnancy thing and thought I was the only one with freaky legs! It's when i'm sitting down in at the end of the day before bed and I just can't get comfy because I feel the need to wiggle my burning, irritable legs! They just don't want to stay still so I have to move them or rub them or scratch them - or anything but keep them still! Someone told me eating bananas helps but it's not had any effect with me! Any other tips?

I get restless legs AND cramp.......pregnant and otherwise !

I am prescribed quinine tablets from the doctor now, but I don;t take them all the time as the side effects were not overly nice to read up on (altho TBF, that was more to do with high doses).

tonic water is helpful, and safe in pregnancy, altho it is an aquired taste I have found. I have a glass every night. It doesn;t cure, but it does help somewhat.

oh, and it can also be iritated by low salt, so I try to have a small bag of crisps too.
