i really have to do pelvics too only took 4 mins to push her out last time... now thats either super strong pelvics or the opposite

third was 1h 35 mins from gush of waters to baby, an hour of contractions and I wouldn't even say I pushed her out, she was out in 2 contractions, I felt her come down and out more than the other two though

I am hoping the fourth will fall out during the ads at Corrie

Love this thread, 39 weeks with no3 having had 19 hours and 8 hours so far, keep telling me about the 15 minute labours please. Once I'm there I know there's nothing I can do about it but it makes me feel much calmer in advance

neolara · 22/10/2009 12:25

IME they fall out. DC3 was 30 mins start to finish, no pushing involved. Delivered by DH in kitchen, ambulance and midwife arrived minutes afterwards. (It was quite sore though - like a 25 min contraction with the odd 20 seconds off.)

princessmel · 22/10/2009 12:38

I am 40 +1 with my no3. I have been having signs for weeks/months. bh, shows etc.
So I'm hoping that when labour starts it will be speedy. But not too speedy. dh is terrified of it coming when we're not at the hospital.

So we will leave as soon as I get the first twinge. But it's just so hard to be sure that I'll know if they're real cx and not bh iykwim. MW at the hospital said (2 weeks ago) that once my waters break, it will be quick... They were bulging then...

madmissy · 22/10/2009 14:40

Oh mel i've been following your thread I was same with dd2 and in end induced as cx were stop starting all over and spd was agony. Once I got going it was so quick well for me lol!

All the midwives I've asked (lots) suck air through their teeth like a plumber finding something dodgy in a waste pipe when you mention the third.
I however am hoping my third will stroll out.) DH seems to think it will.

madmissy · 22/10/2009 16:05

lol at the dh!

3rd was the worst labour (and longest!). Sorry, hopefully yours will be much easier!

Joycey29 · 22/10/2009 19:49

I'm really nervous! No3 due in 5 weeks and just don't know what to expect! 1 & 2 were induced but contrary to mw expectations turned up quickly - 4 hrs and 3 hrs.
Will I make it to the hospital? Really concerned after all your comments.
This will be my last!!!

hannahsaunt · 22/10/2009 20:04

I pitched up at the hospital to have my sore pelvic bones checked out (not a contraction in sight) and 37 minutes later had ds3 ... took 3 pushes which was 50% more effort than ds2 . Dear knows how it will be with dc4 in Feb.

thisisyesterday · 22/10/2009 20:07

mine just fell out!

18hr labour with ds1, 6 hrs with ds2, 45 mmins with ds3 (jut before the ambulance crew and midwives arrived)

Panicking now.

DH will be working in Scotland right up till the end, everyone seems to have fast and furious third labours. I don't want to give birth on the kitchen floor surrounded by toddlers.

madmissy · 22/10/2009 20:38

lol think that we will just have to be on the ball and first signs get hubbys back home!

mine delivers over the south east so im also concerned but thinking that the possible induction wouldnt be such a bad thing lol

madmissy · 22/10/2009 21:40

Lol I would like to but not allowed. I had retained placenta with dd2 and they want me in....

OP posts:
Frrrightattendant · 23/10/2009 06:14

Yes Missy you don't want to be retaining anything. I wanted a natural third stage at home but sadly had a PPH and they said they needed to give me the injection, I just said 'DO IT!!!'

Luckily sorted it out but they were visibly panicking for a few minutes, it's 45 min drive to our (useful) hospital.

sockmonkey · 23/10/2009 07:51

This thread is panicing me now. Never thought I'd wish for a longer labour.
DS1 was induced and took 6 hours
DS2 took about 2 hours.
It's not looking good for me is it?

madmissy · 23/10/2009 18:56

was 3 hrs for m y last too and was induced which is meant to be slow lol but hey we will see!

wouldnt worry to much
