Water has gone

I was asleep till woken by a trickle. Now I have to get my husband back from his parents (his grandfather died today ).

I'd leave it a bit, but this is supposed to be a VBAC so they want me in straightaway.

This is my fourth labour, I should be calmer!

bumped this for you (my water had never gone on me as only had inductions).

is your husband drinking tonight?

Northernlurker · 09/10/2009 23:47

How far away is he?

How many weeks are you?

Are the other kids in the house?

I should be calm too but am fighting the urge to start whipping out towels and boiling water

Are you having contractions?

My water broke just before 7.30am. DS srrived naturally 2.15am next day.

Proper contractions started at 4pm ish.

You could well have a while yet.

Consultant said all those months ago to go in if waters broke but labour ward say no need to go in till morning if not contracting!

So I'm still here, gushing now and again!

Oldest daughter is 17 and was with her dad at grandparents so no babysitting problem.

I've been hoping she'd be early and now I'd really like another week to get ready!

39 weeks + 2 (now it's Saturday)

That's good you don't have to dash in.

Lol at gushing. I remember that! We'd planned a homebirth so they ask you to get incontinence pads in (never did find out quite what for as can only account for 3 being used). Which was very handy when the waters went(!)

I had to get checked out but no one could come out to me and hospital was awkward journey... so I went to my 41 week apt (which happened to be same day) and waddled home still gushing intermittantly!

How exciting!

Best of luck

Been having some contractions, not that painful and not very regular. The last 4 have been 5 - 6 minutes apart. If I wake my husband up he's going to want to set off to hospital, but if I don't I can't try my TENS machine. [I won't get the pads on my back by myself.] You're supposed to start using them before the pain gets bad, aren't you?

I was in a lot more pain than this at 2cm with my second child - not even officially in labour - so it might all stop if I wake anyone.

Just by the fact that I'm still typing I'm probably not in established labour, right?

Anybody up so early?

Last couple 3 minutes apart. Not more than a 4 or 5 on a 1 - 10 pain scale though. Arrgh I don't know what to do!

Woke husband - contractions have vanished for last 20 minutes! This is ridiculous.

I would say you're in latent labour. I had something similar with ds1, ended up going in & out of hospital for a couple of days!

Its hard but try & wait until the contractions are more established. With the tens, I doubt it would work much now, again try and wait until the contractions are stronger.

Good luck

tillyfernackerpants · 10/10/2009 07:24

Also, try to sleep as much as you can & eat & drink normally

tillyfernackerpants · 10/10/2009 17:33

What's happening?

l39 · 10/10/2009 21:40
