VBAC after 2 c sections - help required!

I'm new to this site but would appreciate anyone's advice and

help
I'm pregnant with my 3rd and due to see the consultant next

week to discuss my c-sect. I'm very upset and angry about

this decision that seems to have been made for me.
The reason being I've had two sections but feel (and first

pregnancy was admitted by consultant a cock up) that these

were not due to my inability to deliver.
My first was nearly 3 weeks late by the time he was born. I

was induced after 2 weeks. 3 lots of gel did not bring on

labour, 13 internals and being told they could feel the

babies, head, I was 3cm dilated, 0cm , 1cm no bugger could

make their minds up. Its all ended up with a section with

which the doctor pulled him out and quoted oh my god he's

breech.
Due to this my second pregnancy plan seem doomed when they

wanted me strapped to a monitor which I was most upset about.
I went in natual labour, water broke, 5cm dilated then

strapped to monitor where they all freaked out thinking cord

was around neck. Three lots of fetal blood sampling taken

(due to machine breaking, blood vile smashed on floor) and

after all that and loads of internals - 'oh he hasn't got

cord round his neck'. Due to all the intervention surprise

labour stopped and baby got stressed so ended up with c sect.
My midwife has told me its vey rare of having natural birth

and they will put me under immense pressure to have c-sect.
Its spoiling my pregnancy as I'm so worked up going to see

consultant and requesting trial of labour.
I really need facts and figures - especially for Swansea

Singleton Hospital if anyone can help.
Sorry for the rant but really in need of support

Hi,

I don't know much about this myself, but I've had a bit of a trawl through the archives and there's some good advice on this thread

some more reading here

a bit more

and this one has LOOOOOADS of posts

Good luck

(and congratulations)

Sorry redragon don't have much advice, but just wanted to say good luck. I am in the same situation, pg with third after 2 sections and it is very annoying how the health professionals TELL you your having a section, and even go so far to say that your not allowed to try for a vbac. It wouldn't be too much to ask for them to actually discuss options and ask your opinion would it grr. I'm sure someone can link you to statistics etc and remember it is actually your body and your choice.

thanks so much x

Hi reddragon - congratulations!

I was about to start a very similar thread.

(thanks for the reading squonk!)

I had my first meeting with consultant today (I am 31 weeks but seem to have slipped through the system a bit, not that I mind particularly). Anyway I was very surprised to be told that, so long as I was aware of the risks and benefits of both elective CS and vba2c, the hospital would be supportive of giving a vaginal birth a go. She was rather marvellous actually. Suggested a doula, said that vba2c would be new to some of the staff and that I would need to be very clear about what I wanted because of this. I presume continuous monitoring is part of the deal though. Meeting her again in 5 weeks to make a plan. This is LWH, if you want to make reference to it!

The best I had hoped for really, was a CS date at term +7 and maybe the option of an in labour elective.

Be interested to hear how you get on, and also from anyone who has attempted vba2(or more)c. Cheers
