well i remember nearly vomiting several times when i had ds because of that smell, but what im wondering is, do you actually smell like that and nobody says anything? im afraid of being realy smelly and nobody saying. im not intending to stay in hosp this time so it will be my home thats smelly iyswim. i hate the thought of visitors coming and that smell greeting them at the door.

I found my sense of smell was much much stronger during pregnancy and for a while after giving birth, don't worry about the smell at home, if in doubt open a few windows squirt a bit of fragrance in the bathroom/ on yourself and hand out the pegs

oh, i'll be doing all that anyway, paranoid about smell. would just hate for that to be what visitors smelt as soon as they walk in.

i'm sure that smell must be a build up smell iyswim? many mums, many erm fragrances.

God that smell, I had a birth debrief (no pun intended!) and my counsellor, was quite taken aback when we re visited the labour/birthing rooms and loos.

I am sure you will be fine.

Mixture of lots of things - lots of cleaning products, lochia, amniotic fluid, meconium, iodine etc. And as someone said above everyone smells different after birth and the mixture of different smells can be very overwhelming.
