HI all

new to this (just found out am 6 weeks) I was looking into private births but I have found out at the lindo its around 8 to 10k (3.2 for the hospital and £5k upwards for the consultant).

I have heard good things about antinatal at UCH can anyone tell me what it is like to give birth what are the facilities like? I have my first app in a couple of weeks with a midwife.

Is it possible to have anti natal care on the nhs and a private doctor for the birth? If so do you know which hospitals you can do this in and with which consultants.

Any words of wisdom gratefully received.

thanks

Hi,
If any of you are still folliwng this thread as it's now a few months gone - Missy Bear10 do you mind posting a break down of the fees?
I'm in Bath and am trying to find a private consultant; preferably in Bath (understand there is nobody) or Bristol.
And also who was you consultant and if you'd recommend?
Thanks so much!!

Roseotto do you mind me asking where you delivered and who were your consultants? Would you recommend? Any advice welcome. Thanks!

@TashaD80 sorry I realise this thread is old but don’t they have a private wing at UCLH? I’ve been looking at it recently and was searching threads but can’t find much. Thank you if you see this and respond.

@missybear10 would you mind sharing your breakdown of costs?

I mixed and matched at queen charlotte's and it was super easy, loads of friends did too - consultants on the NHS then private birth by midwives, if you need an emc then NHS takes over (it's literally the same birthing rooms /ward). Obvs you can't do that at the portland.
