I've posted this on pregnancy, but I am new and didn't realise I should have posted over here. Sorry for messing it all up!

I'm only 9 weeks so don't think I have to decide yet! But just wondered where ladies from Warrington and the surrounding areas gave birth?
I've only lived here for a short while and only know of Warrington General Hospital. I've been there previously when I had a M/C and found it to be a horrid experience and just wondered if there were other options in the area so I can research before my midwife/scan appointments etc.

Feeling a bit scared and out of place in a new place and pregnant! So any help/advice would be fab.

I live in the vicinity and had a choice of 4 hospitals warrington, chester, whiston and liverpool royal. Had my baby 5+weeks ago at Warrington found it relatively positive experience but did go straight into labour suite as i was already fully dilated when I arrived so couldn't comment on full range of care.

Thanks Jollyjoanne, I shall look into those other ones as well as some positive reports of WGH.

Thanks. Congratulations on the new baby too.

Hi CASS . I've had 3 babies at WG, and am expecting my 4th in June. I have found care to be 'ok' - very dependent on the midwife you get etc, etc, and levels of cleanliness were questionable (used sanitory towels in toilet anyone?). I think it's rated as 'satisfactory' by the gov, though not so good on bf support after the birth if that's what you're after. I've heard that Chester is the only place that offers mobile epidurals, which may be something to consider? Finally WG do have a new midwife led unit, but you do have to be classed as 'low risk' ...Will let you know how I get on there in June if I chicken out of home birth plan...
