For what reason did people have elective c-sections?

That's it really.

I ended up with an emergency c-section with ds (big baby-9lb 2oz, back to back labour and couldn't push him out) and just wondering what to do this time round. I'm quite scared of going through hours of labour again just to end up with an emergency c-section.

do you know that only 3% of pregnant mums ask for elective c-section, but only 47% go through withouth a medical intervention and 29.9% of us end up having emergency caesarean anyways...
huh..statistics and still NHS try to reduce elective c-section at mothers request.

i am only 25 weeks but have to put a huge fight for what i want! They told me NO, i tell them YES.. I wonder how long it will take for me to convince them that I NEED it.
