I am 39+6 today and have been loosing my plug over the last couple of weeks.

Over the last few days been having contractions and period type pains which have lasted for a few hours and then gone away,

Today I went for a walk had a curry etc and have been getting period pains for about three hours along with back ache and irregular contractions which have sort of settled at about 7 mins for the last three,
Thing is although they are uncomfotable and the period pains hurt etc thought it would be more painful than this. SO Im wondering if it's just braxton hicks again

Any advice would be welcome! (it's my first and Im pretty clueless)

Things seem to have slowed down to the point of stopping with me

Feel like a bit of a numpty for getting all excited last night, I really thought things were happening

Any progress with you SN3

Guess Im destined to be overdue

No progress with me either but we're entitled to get excited we're nearly there! still getting the contractions regularly but they're just not progressing to anything so not sure what's going on there!

it sounds promising if your still getting contractions, I have my fingers crossed for you x

My contractions seem to more or less have stopped, so Im thinking that Im going to be having my sweep with the midwife on Tuesday, although there is always tonight and tomorrow for baby to come x

I had a show on the Sunday morning before I had ds1 and I finally went to hospital on the Monday night and he was born on the Tuesday morning. I remember having similarly timed contractions as you all day on the Sunday.
Good luck - I'm very . My 'baby' is a stroppy 9 year old now and I wish I could rewind!

surprisenumber3 · 12/04/2009 22:36

Ginny, my eldest 'baby' is now a 9 year old too! My second DC is 5 years old and I wish I could have them as babies for longer too

JaquelinehydeAllTheEggs · 12/04/2009 22:48

Oh ladies I feel for you both, but just enjoy it as much as you can.

I now that sounds stupid but it is quite good fun isn't it, all that antisipation. I shall watch this thread feeling .

Good luck can't wait till I start TTC DC4.

Pilki · 13/04/2009 09:47

Thats a nice way to look at it ladies. Think I was getting too caught up in my wanting baby on the due date instead of enjoying all the anticipation.

Think Im going to relax and enjoy all this as time will fly when the baby arrives,

Still having twinges but think I will be off for the sweep tomorrow xx

Hope the above makes sense, my brain is in a constant pregnant muddle at the moment xx

I have a 5 year old too SN3. I'd love a 'surprise' but I doubt it will happen for me now
Good luck, you lucky thing!!

surprisenumber3 · 13/04/2009 20:08

I didn't think it would happen for me either ginny, couldn't persuade DH and was told I would have problems conceiving anyway so really was a bit of a surprise..a nice one though

JustKeepSwimmingInChocolate · 13/04/2009 20:53

Still no news?

Good luck with sweep Pilki

MoshiMoshi · 14/04/2009 09:15

sn3 - good luck with the sweep today.

pilki - hope everything goes smoothly and you are resting and making the most of this time (if you haven't gone into labour overnight!)

MoshiMoshi · 14/04/2009 09:15

Oops - sorry messages for pilki and sn3 wrong way round!

ginnny · 14/04/2009 10:55

Well maybe my coil will fall out and DP will suddenly grow up and become a responsible adult and I'll win the lottery!
Who knows ...
