I am 34+3. First baby. Sure of dates.

I am due to have an elective C/S - booked for 7 May when I will be 38+1 - because of previous Ashermans syndrom and placental concerns.

On Monday night I had about 4 hours worth of strongish tightenings, occuring even at rest. These felt a bit like Braxton Hicks but more so, if you know what I mean. I was concerned that things were happening as they were quite regular - lasting 30-60 secs, perhaps every 5 mins. I eventually got to sleep and it seemed to pass by the morning. But since then I have been feeling really uncomfortable. Strong feeling of pressure whenever I stand up and variably strong tightenings. Some of these are really quite uncomfortable. They are much worse whenever I walk or do anything active. I also feel very 'nervous' and butterflies, for no particular reason.

This isn't prem labour yet I'm sure, but do you reckon it is getting started? I wonder if I have irritable uterus. Perhaps everyone gets this, this is the first time I have been here so I don't know what is normal!

What are the chances of lasting another 4 weeks? I think probably I won't...

I would rather not have the baby just yet, it still seems a tad early (although everything I have read says that 34+ is generally absolutely fine), but I would be very glad not to be pregnant any more!

I am 33 weeks and feel more or less how you described .

If you are really concerned though you could ask mw to pop out and see you .

If you did have the baby now my dsis had hers at 34 weeks and he spent 2 nights in a cot on SCBU and 10 days on the ward with her because he was tired at feeding times.

Best to keep them in as long as possible though .

Good luck.

It could be a UTI, worth getting checked out just in case, are you drinking enough water? being dehydrated can spark off strong braxton hicks. Or it could be the position the baby is laying in (could be worth seeing a chiropractor). Def get your wee checked out with your GP/midwife anyway.

It could be a UTI as cce says.

I had one and would have thought I was in labour if I had been due.
