ECV followed by Induction - anybody had this?

A midwife mentioned this at my consultants appointment last week as a possible option to try & avoid a c-section though it had left my head before I saw the consultant!

She said sometimes they can turn the baby & then induce straight away to avoid the baby turning back & resulting in a guaranteed c-section. (They have deicided I will not have a natural birth if he's breech)

I think I would like to try and avoid a c-section if possible, but don't know if I can..

Has anybody had this done?

I am seeing my midwife on Friday & then my consultant again on Tuesday & would like to go with a bit more information if possible.
And a potential list of questions written down as I always get brain freeze when I go into the consultation room!

Thanks!

My DD1 was breech until 37 weeks. I walked up the stairs sideways and swayed about on all fours in an attempt to get her to turn. It all worked and she turned one very bizarre night. I actually saw legs, bum etc spinning round. It felt like she was trying to get out!!!So, maybe there is time for you. Ask your midwife for turning techniques.

I had ECV then induction with ds1. ECV was at 38 wks or so, consultant said he would turn him again if necessary even in early labour. In the end he was so late he was induced, and came out headfirst in under 2 hours.

Ask: where is placenta?
Can baby be turned again if goes back breech?

You could always have the ECV and then wait to go in to labour naturally. The baby might turn back but if they manage to turn the baby there's a high probability it won't turn back. There's a leaflet here with some stats etc.
They wouldn't induce me because of a previous section.
The success rates for ECV aren't great. I had one at 37 weeks with my dd (now 9 weeks old) and it didn't work. They tried for about 30mins. It was uncomfortable but not terrible.
The c section was really fine though (i was desperate for a vbac) and my recovery has been pretty good, certainly a good deal better than the recovery after an emergency section the first time. Good luck whatever happens.
