SPD pains ----- or Labour pains?!

Hi
For those who have suffered from SPD is it normal to get stabbing pains in your vagina towards the end? I'm thinking it is.. but hoping it might also be labour starting!!!! I am 38+6 weeks preggers and really it's hurting a lot down there but as with my daughter I was induced I don't know what I should be looking out for!
Thanks
Helen

I had these around the same time. I think it is baby's head pushing down. All good signs I think!

Sounds like the baby moving down to me - you might find your spd eases a bit too.

Sadly yes, it's pretty common, could be things getting ready too (which doesn't mean it's imminent necessarily, after all 39wks is a normal time for things to get ready!).

I found seeing a chiropractor remarkably helpful for my SPD, even at such a late stage.

Thank you for all your messages. I kind of knew it was a sign of preparation not the ultimate sign! This time last baby I was already holding her after being induced - my gosh this waiting game is dull!!!!!!!

I found with my SPD that it helped if i 'held' myself, almost as if i was a little girl holding in a wee iykwim?
If you do this (in private obv!) does it ease the pain?
then it's not labour!

Good luck & sympathies about spd.
