speedy second or subsequent labour

DD1 was 16 days early and reasonably quick for a first baby - 10 hours from waters breaking to delivery. Am 29 weeks pregnant with twins and starting to get a bit stressed about getting DD1 (2.5) looked after when I go into labour as family aren't local and most of my friends have several children and while I would feel ok about her going to them in the day don't think it's fair if it all kicks off in the middle of the night to drag her out of her bed. Given there's quite a big window for twins to appear it's not realistic to move the grannies in for 6 weeks . Was wondering how quick anyone elses second or subsequent labours were as wondering if we could have nearest granny (lives an hour away) on standby, and DH to wait with DD until she arrived and join me at the hospital later. Sorry for rambling post but preggy brain is causing a bit of angst.

With our second (ds 1 was 3.5 at the time) it was early sun morn when the hospital said to come in. MIL was 3 hrs away so ds went to wait with a neighbour (where his best friend is so he was fine about it all) she arrived to pick him up 3+ hrs later.

I would make sure you have in place someone who can take dd day or night and make sure they can do this in weekdays as well as weekends. Chat to dd so she knows what may happen.

Am currently prgt with ds 3 and though having a c-section will still make emergency plans should we need them.

good luck!!
