had DD at home in birthing pool on Sunday morning, everything fine, have minor grazes and normal blood loss. midwife says no bath for 4 weeks, because 'risk of infection' but I don't think this can be right (I'm in Holland so they have different ideas). But I'm dying to have a nice soak in the bath? can anyone advise?

omg, i can't think of anything worse than not being able to bath after having giving birth! I would ignore her advice completely. I do use non fragranced products or have salt baths for a while though just to be on the safe side

I've had my 3dcs in the same hospital and they literally run your bath as soon as baby is born

Here they advise you to have lots of baths with a handful of salt in each one to assist with healing. A kind of home hydrotherapy.

midwife ran me a bath about an hour after dd was born. Four weeks that's a long time!
