when they say 'call us when the contractions are three minutes apart', do they mean three minutes from the beginning of one to the beginning of the next one, or three minutes from the end of one to the beginning of the next one?

i know it's a daft question, just wondering

If your unit has diamorphine I would have that instead of pethidine which is a bloody useless drug in my experience! I would try to inject an element of humor into talking about your birth plan because some midwives make assumptions and in my experience detailed birth plans usually go horribly awry. Good on you for rejecting the CTG, they increase interventions without improving outcomes and have no evidence base with regard to VBAC, we just do them because we fear litigation imo! The hypnobirthing people do a good VBAC CD if you are interested in that kind of thing. Good luck.

Oh yes, forgot to add that if your contractions are coming every 3 minutes you will probably want to be in hospital by that point as they will be bloody painful I expect!
