Q about being a doula

Hiya, I'm thinking of training to be a doula & have a couple of questions about the practical aspects of it.

When you have a client, what do you do about childcare? As I understand it, most doulas are on call for 2 weeks either side of the birth date so I would imagine you need emergency childcare?

yes you do. It's the kind of job that we just couldn't do without the knowledge that someone can have the children at the drop of a hat, even in the middle of the night.

I know that some London doulas will cover for each other but out here in the sticks it's not really possible.

Fab job though (if you can call it a job )

thanks vbac, its what I thought!

I'm training to be an antenatal teacher & would love to be able to attend births as well! Now I just need to work out if I can afford the course...
