Does baby still move quite a bit in early labour?

Have got quite painful contractions which I think are just BHs as havent had a show, waters not broken etc and not due til 16th.

However, baby is still so active, really wriggly, and I just wondered if that stops in early labour, or can you still feel the baby move?

I did because my baby was lying on the right and decided to spend a couple of days moving over to the left before making her grand entrance. Lots of movement.

I was having contractions for 4 days tues -sat and felt baby move. Mom told me they were BH's! Yeh right!
Saturday and my waters broke as I bent down. Didnt really feel baby move at all after that.(maybe just once i think)Then she was born naturally 6 hrs later.

midwife asked me whether I had felt baby move
and I said 'yes' lying as I was scared of what she might do. I wanted a natural birth from start to finsh and NOT in a hospital. Unfortunately she was a week and 2 days too early for that homebirth!

just as an aside I never had a showorwaters at all until 2nd stage with 2 of mine, not a guarantee!

I recon though that DD was moving I was just in schock really as I had to be transported from hospital to hospital.
I say just remain calm.
Once your waters brake you will feel a slightly different kind of contraction.
Just go with it. Breathe with each one. Focus on how beautiful your baby is gonna be.

You can do it!

Mine both kept moving, in fact I felt dd move about five minutes before her birth.

Mine kicked after every contraction, and was still kicking away when I got wheeled in for emergency section. The staff couldn't believe it!

ds was like that as well babyignoramus. he literally wrestled his way through the entire labour and birth. even the midwives were peering at my heaving writhing bump and turning slightly green. one did pluck up enough courage to ask 'is baby always like that?' in a concerned tone as she winced and flinched...

Good luck Millie! (oh - i had a show 10 days before my waters broke lol - my early labour was so protracted with huge BHs i felt like i'd been in labour for a week...)Not long now!
