Unused Birth Pool In a Box + accessories for sale

Finally getting round to putting this up for sale...DD is nearly 9months old!

Planned a homebirth hence buying a birth pool, but never actually got in it as DD was breech (how did no one notice that?!) and we were transferred to hospital.

DH inflated and filled the pool, but no one ever got in. I guess you'd need/want to buy a new liner but the rest is literally as new. Still all in its box under the desk where I'm sitting right now.

We got all the extra gubbins with it - pump etc.

If anyone's interested in making an offer, let me know and I can properly list what's included.

Cheers

Which size is it?

ElmMum · 16/02/2009 21:22

If you go to this page www.birthpoolinabox.co.uk/ and scroll down a bit, there's an illustration of their two pools. It's the one on the right i.e. the bigger one.

Ah poop, I need the mini one.

ElmMum · 16/02/2009 21:40

That's a shame. Good luck with everything!

I'm interested! What have you got with it? And how much are you thinking? It is a bit too early....but i suppose it is ok to be prepared!

ElmMum · 17/02/2009 16:40

Hi there,

We've got:

  • The regular pool i.e. the big one, with liner and handpump, and instructions. Pool comes in a big drawstring bag (£89.95)
  • Heat cover (£15)
  • Inflate/deflate pump (£12)

From the Standard Kit 2 for filling and emptying (£40) we've got:

  • Electric Submersible Water Pump (for emptying the pool quicker than the handpump)
  • Floor Mat
  • Sieve (unused!)

You can see the kit if you scroll down this page (www.birthpoolinabox.co.uk/birth-pool-eco-regular).

We've used the hose in the garden and the thermometer for DD's bath, so wouldn't include those.

They recommend that you don't reuse the liner. We filled the pool but never got in, so I'm guessing you could use our liner if you wanted to get into the pool in the later stages of pregnancy, or just to try it out, but you should get a new liner for the actual birth. A new liner costs £25.

In total, we spent about £170.00. We'd be happy to get £100 for it. Where are you in the UK. Not sure how much it would cost to post.

Hope that helps! Ask any questions you like!
Cheers

Hello - not on CAT but friend is interested (but not registered at all with MN) - can you tell me where you are based? And how she might contact you?

ElmMum · 18/02/2009 22:00

We're in Brighton. Don't want to put my email address up here really. Er, not sure what to suggest. Could your friend register with MN?

(What does not on CAT mean?)

Bumping this for myself, hope that's not bad forum etiquette!

Anyone else interested in our unused birth pool?

OP posts:
ElmMum · 24/02/2009 13:24

Bumping again. I'll give up shortly and try another plan!

giantkatestacks · 01/03/2009 13:07

hi there - have you sold this yet? My SIL needs one and is in Surrey...

NotSoRampantRabbit · 17/03/2009 22:22

On the very very off chance that you still have this and want to sell - I'm your gal.

Am 29 weeks. Will be second homebirth.

Will definitely give you £100 for the lot.

Let me know if you still want to sell.

NotSoRampantRabbit · 17/03/2009 22:22

Oh, and I work in Brighton!

I also have a birthing pool for sale. It is la bassine, and the entire birthing pool kits, which has a faucet adapter, lead free hose, thermometer, and air pump 150 volt.

I used this pool for my homebirth, with a pool liner. Usually when you rent a pool from a midwife, it is 150-250 dollars. I am willing to see my entire kits for 120. Let me know if anyone is interested. The pool is so comfortable. I loved it!!
