Episiotomy in hospital for first labour due to baby's big head! What are my chances or normal home birth next time?

I tried to have a home water birth with my DS but due to his large head we had to transfer to hospital and I needed episiotomy and forceps. I had some uncomfortable scar tissue so had to have the episiotomy repeated 8 months later. We still have the birthing pool at home so if possible I'd like to use it again but now that I have two lots of scar tissue should I just forget the idea and go to hospital and have another one? What are my chances of a normal home birth without intervention??

My first delivery was ventouse with a big episiotmy due to failure to descend snd OP positioning. My second was a completely natural delivery. I tore a little at the epi site, but I knew that I would, as I had a skin bridge over the entrance to the vagina - there was no way that DD2 could get out with the "door closed"! Your chances of having a similar experience are high - there are loads of stories on MN. The baby will have more room this time as you will be less toned (sorry!).

I think that it's worth at least trying for a natural delivery, unless you find transferring to hospital very stressful and really want to avoid it. Or is there a hospital-based birthing unit that you could use? I am biased because I really like my experience at a birthing centre, but the MWs there really were very supportive of natural delivery.
