Hi all,
I had my first DD four weeks ago. I am still bleeding red blood (sorry for TMI). I am not sure if this is normal or not. I am not in any pain.
Thank you!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It can last about 6 weeks - should be tailing off gradually though. If it's still pretty heavy you should tell your midwife.

6 weeks for me both times and fairly heavy for most of that time.

Between 6 and 8 weeks for both of mine.

Ditto fairly heavy - though more so when I exerted myself.

I think you should check with your midwife just to be on the safe side - I bled for 6 weeks following the birth of my DS but the lochia went a sort of brownish colour towards the end.

I lost 400ml after the birth and am still bleeding red blood 3 weeks on - had a sudden 'gush' on Tues eve of about 100ml and a blood clot, which panicked me a bit but the midwife was quite relaxed about it, as long as the blood doesn't smell bad and there are no stomach pains/tenderness. If either of those symptoms were present then I was told to go to the GP fairly swiftly. May be worth giving your midwife/health visitor a call to be on the safe side.

Was about 5-6 weeks both times for me, DS2 was a bit longer than DS1 but I bled less at the birth so was prob why.
You coudl call your GO and ask if it worrying you (presume at 4 weeks you are signed off from MW).
