Hurray! Hurray! Hurray! Very TMI but very cheerful post about post-birth trauma to bits.

I've probably bored everyone on here to bits with the sorry state of my bits after DD1's delivery - and then all the stress of being pregnant and delivering DD2. I had a huge episiotomy with DD1 which healed very badly - to the extent that I was in pain if I sat down for too long even 6 months after. I had a 2nd degree tear with DD2 which healed in a ridge. The teratment after DD1 was awful, the treatment after DD2 was much better with a sympathetic gynae who gave me cortisone injections.

Anyway...

It's less than 4 months after DD2's birth and I've only had 2 sets of cortisone injections, and last night I mananged to have the first sex for a year, and the first pain-free sex for over two years. I feel like leaping around the high street singing! I will constrain myself to boasting on MN though. It was spontaneous, and afterwards I was so emotional and just plain relieved that I burst into tears.

Yay! I don't quite know what else to say

modernart · 26/01/2009 15:53

Well done you!

That's great! I also had some post-natal undercarriage issues after dd was born and it took ages for me to ask for help. Glad your treatment has worked so well.

Well done. I couldn't have painless sex after dd1 due to a huge tear until i had dd2 and was re-stitched correctly and had painless sex 3 weeks later.

Thank you.
I've moaned so much on here about the dreadful state that I was left in that I thought that it would be good to redress the balance. Plus I'm now getting quite evangelical about cortisone - especially as the OB that I saw at my special 6 week check hadn't ever heard of it.

Ello Mrs T, ah bless you...

Just goes to show the fight for good treatment is worth it! Glad you managed to enjoy yourself before blubbering!
