Hello

Second baby due in 3 weeks and a couple of days...1st baby induced so did not start labour normally...

Today I have had a constant agony pain all over my bump.

Anyone else have this - is this level of pain normal for BH??

(I can't lift my 2 yr old for example and can hardly stand after having been lying down....)

Any reassurance v welcome....

I was like this the day before I had DS. Maybe you could ring your midwife?

GrimbleTheResourceful · 17/01/2009 23:17

I mean just to check, I don't mean you'll go into labour tomorrow!

hambo · 17/01/2009 23:17

Oh crikey

sorry .

Could you ring though, just for reassurance?

scrooged · 17/01/2009 23:19

They shouldn't be painful. Contractions are painful BH and you can feel them in your fanjo (your girlie bits). Call your midwife or the hospital if they are painful.

hambo · 17/01/2009 23:19

OK will do...

Thanks, by the way.
Don't want to be a fussy person you know...?!

That's their job! I had a patient appologise because I took an x-ray for him last week. It's my job. We wouldn't do it if we minded. You're not being fussy.

GrimbleTheResourceful · 17/01/2009 23:28

Do ring hambo.

Hope you have a good night.

hambo · 17/01/2009 23:31

Thank you Grimble - I am waiting on hold now...!

'Tis the horrible bit eh? (I mean of having a baby)...

Thank you so much for your replies - so glad you are both still awake!

I had this with daughters 2, 3 and 4. If I had a bath, 2 paracetamol and went to bed, I always knew the next morning whether or not it was the real thing!

Good luck, maybe they will settle into a rhythm and you#ll have a lovely baby tomorrow!

scrooged · 17/01/2009 23:33

Sometimes they are not 'strong' enough (I said nothing about the pain by the way) to get things moving. A bath can help slow things down or speed things up. Call them if they are really bad though.

rachaelsara · 17/01/2009 23:34

Do let us know...

hambo · 17/01/2009 23:43

I called them and they asked me to go in....feel a plonker but I will go...sure I will be home in 10 minutes!

Also, have lost my notes in Ikea madness!

Let them check you over. They won't mind if they are painful BH. It's their job.

GrimbleTheResourceful · 18/01/2009 09:28

Morning hambo, how are you today?

hambo · 19/01/2009 18:58

Hello

It turns out I have a urine infection which sounds a bit weedy but apparently some ladies say it is more painful than contractions so I don't feel too bad for moaning. I have some pills so now am feeling much more human!

Thank you sooooo much for your concern it was so lovely, my husband thought so too!!!
