what do you do if you want a section and senior reg tries to dissuade you? can you ask to see the consultant or 2nd opinion?

thanks

Klaw, I had a doula when I had ds actually

and am planning to have her with me for this birth - I still worry about it though....

of course you do! We all have some ghosts in subsequent births, whether it's VBAC, or problems with placenta in the 3rd stage, or SD, or whatever... We need to have these fears acknowledged, not be told not to worry, we're safe aren't we?

I'm glad you've got a doula who knows your history and can support you well this time around. You WILL make the right decision for you.

Enjoy your pg! I'll keep an eye out for you

thanks Klaw

actually, reg did say something that struck a chord - obvious probably - but that labour IS unpredictable and they are all trained to deal with those unpredictabilities

I think a lot of my fear is that it was luck that the midwife knew what to do, but of course they all know the SD drill

DS2 is lovely dinny, but much harder work than either DS1 or DD. We are definately being challenged as parents this time round. His sleeping patterns are all over the place and until this week he was practically nocturnal....fun and games

I hope your debriefing appointment is useful and that everything goes well whichever means baby is delivered. I'll keep an eye out for your birth announcement

dinny · 18/01/2009 16:10

how old is he now?

OP posts:
LackaDAISYcal · 18/01/2009 17:25

He's eleven weeks now dinny....it's gone sooooo quickly. Amazing the trick sleep deprivation plays on you

dinny · 18/01/2009 17:28

blimey! 11 weeks...

I thought third babies just slotted in and were really easy

Ha...that's what I was led to believe as well . Obviously Fin has other ideas. He's settling down now though and we have had three seven hour stints overnight this week. He has been a bit windy and colicky, and loves to suck...but not on a dummy, oh no. He'll only settle if sucking on a grown up's finger, which is a bit of a tie.

Love him to bits though

dinny · 18/01/2009 20:55

both my two have beeen Hard Work as babies - bet I get another! don't think I do ones that need much sleep!

LackaDAISYcal · 18/01/2009 21:19

You might be surprised . You're hopefully due and easy baby this time .

I had two easy ones (both sleeping through by 8 weeks) so have had a bit of a shock with Fin. We're coming out of the hardest bit though and he is getting slowly better; he did seven hours last night for the first time and I feel even more knackered than usual!

dinny · 18/01/2009 21:52

that's good going - ds was in our bed feeding every flipping two hours until he was 2.5!

This is the average of 36 weeks pregnant, I think you don't need other section. If you wish to take another C section better to go with exact information(symptoms).

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 01/02/2012 13:56

Er, this thread is 3 years old...

whoknowsme · 01/02/2012 14:53

Lindaalbert

You've had just over 3 years to read the OP and you still missed that the poster isn't after "another" C section, both of her first 2 births were vaginal. Grin.
