Id very much like to try myself, but know ABSOLUTLEY nothing about the risks involved, and the chances of success....

Buy a copy of the VBAC handbook; there are some amazing stories on there incuding home VBACs after 2 or more c-sections. You can find it on Amazon - really recommend it. Cx

With all due respect, why would you even want to? I'm guessing there was a valid reason why you had 3 sections?

I agree with Riven. Having stitches on your tummy are FAR better than having them on (and in!) your fanjo. And as she said, it won't ever be the same.

Lulumama · 14/01/2009 13:15

not everyone has stitches in their fanjo after a vaginal birth

your first step is to contact www.aims.org.uk for support, as i can pretty much guarantee that you will come up against barriers from your consultant/MWs.

chances of success i think depend very much on why you had the previous sections. if it is a problem that will recur

and how and where and with what support you labour

and of course the psychological aspects for you of going/not going for a VBAC

Hi QueenofVenus
I had a VBA3C too, in an NHS hospital, with great support (albeit eventually).
As the others have said, success will depend on the reasons for your other sections (and also on your determination) but I'm happy to have a chat with you if you'd like some direction.
You can email mehere

sorry, don't think that link worked -

Oh and for the record, of the majority of women I speak to who go onto have a VBAC (after any number of caesareans, they would choose VBAC over elective CS every time. There are always exceptions, but the general concensus is that there is no comparison to the way you feel after a natural birth to a surgical delivery.

belgo · 14/01/2009 14:09

Yes agree with lulumama not everyone has stitchs after a vaginal birth.

I've had three vaginal births, stitches after each one, and absolutely no problems whatsoever.

It may not look quite the same down there, but the function and feeling is the same due to plenty of pelvic floor exercises!

ILoveBrucie · 14/01/2009 14:11

go on the ukvbachbac yahoo chat group, you need to join it as it is a private group, but without their help/support/information I would not have achieved my vbacs, and they were much easier to recover from than my sections.

Everyone is different but my vbacs helped me recover both mentally and physically.

If I had my time again I wouldn't have had my vbacs because I would never agree to having my sections
