pupuce · 29/03/2005 22:40

Aloha - I am not sure Starshaker is talking about contractions... or am I misunderstanding?

starshaker · 29/03/2005 22:41

pupuce · 29/03/2005 22:41

Comes and goes like what?

starshaker · 29/03/2005 22:42

it will be really sore then its ok but comes back just as bad and worse if i move

OP posts:
RTKangaMummy · 29/03/2005 22:43

Is it in lower back?

I couldn't stand sit or lie down nothing worked

IMHO I would get to hospital or ring midwife or whateveryour birth plan is

starshaker · 29/03/2005 22:44

yeah its at the bottom of my back and sometimes my side

OP posts:
pupuce · 29/03/2005 22:44

How long does the soreness last for ?
is it regular?
I wouldn't panic.

RTKangaMummy · 29/03/2005 22:44

I was already in hospital and so was taken to labour ward

starshaker · 29/03/2005 22:45

it lasts a while havent timed it to be honest but it goes away for bout 10 minsish i think

OP posts:
pupuce · 29/03/2005 22:45

Do you think they are contractions... I mean is it regular? Does it come at the same pace and can you talk when it is happening?

starshaker · 29/03/2005 22:46

yeah can talk but it really hurts feels like really bad period pain but when its gone its fine again

OP posts:
RTKangaMummy · 29/03/2005 22:47

I will bow out now cos just realised that as pupuce is midwife she has way way more knowledge than me

And I amy be talking rubbish

Good luck

pupuce · 29/03/2005 22:47

If this is every 10 minutes and these are contractions it is still (sorry!) early days.
If you are concerned you can call the labour ward, if you go in too early (10 mins apart will be) and you will be disappointed

starshaker · 29/03/2005 22:48

thanx for ur help rtk x

starshaker · 29/03/2005 22:49

RTKangaMummy · 29/03/2005 22:49

sorry pupuce

I got muddled up

pupuce · 29/03/2005 22:50

Ring them if it will put your mind at ease... it won't either accelerate or slow down a labour.
