It is great in theory tree, but I don't know how to do this.

It is basically assumed at our trust that you will vbac. I was going to start a thread about how I feel, but I am getting to my wits end now- 4 weeks left - even thinking about it starts me crying, and that isn't pg hormones, its trauma.

DH and I discussed birth before our meeting the consultant christmas eve, and we both agreed we'd rather have elective section, but when it came to the appointment, I couldn't say anything other than I was undecided. DH didn't comment at all - though DD was getting fed-up by that point.
I am feeling very let down at the moment, but he is so busy with work, and we never get any time to talk- he is working now even

Thank for the feedback!! Felt a bit embarassed after the mega post from hell!!

Anyone can refuse anything, it is your basic human right. In extreme cases there can be a question of the rights of the unborn child biut we're talking mega rare here.

It seems to me that whilst looking back the experience of some maternity care is horrid, at the time the sheer neccesity of some of the actions taken [like Internals] - while maybe not fully explained or understood at the time - the sheer neccesity makes the crap things that happen to us OK. Dunno if that makes sense.

EachPeach - ok, you shouldn't have to feel like this, especially over anything that can be looked at and looked into and worked through. A month is ages, the people with the tools and skills to help you will be at work loads between now and delivery day. I'd be delighted to try and help you scheme another 'bite of the apple' with the consultant if you like? And I'm sure there are loads of people out there who have done something similar, plus Dr's, midwives and consultants who would make great suggestions.

Do say if you want to go there, or if you just want to chat stuff through. for you that you didn't seem to get your say as it were.

tree - quick question - when they have to move the cervix as its coming down with the head iykwim, is it still 2 fingers? Just wondered as this ahppened to me.

Sorry to highjack thread (fblush)

treedelivery · 29/12/2008 10:35

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta - I think you mean stretching it back or pushing it over the head if the head is coming really quickly, can be done with really stetchy cervix especially if 2nd, 3rd baby and on. Then loo and behold you are fully dilated and can go with the pushing. Still 2 fingers.

LoveBeingAMummyKissingSanta · 31/12/2008 06:54

It was my first, is that unusal? Didn't actually feel the erge to push for a ages, in fact they had to take the G&A off me and tell me to push anyway to get it sttarted!
