Dunstan Baby Language - Experiences???

Hi All

I have got a dvd called Dunstan Baby Language. i have watched it a few times already. it teaches 5 different sounds that babies make from the time they are born. they are basic sounds and correlate to what the baby wants from you, eg, hungry, windy, tired, etc.

The lady who "discovered" this language of newborns is Priscilla Dunstan and I first saw her on Oprah demonstrating.

I wonder if any of you have heard of this, used her methods, if so, was it successful?

There is nothing more frustrating than to have a crying baby and not knowing what the baby is trying to tell you! I experienced that with DS and now that I am expecting DS2, it would be great if i can understand what he is trying to tell me!

Hi! I saw the same Oprah show & also got the DVD and have had some success with it. My baby is 1 month old (1st one - haven't got the hang of the dd, ds stuff yet - will have to look it up - this is my first post!) and he does seem to make the Dunstan sounds for upper abdominal & lower abdominal discomfort, haven't heard the 'neh' one for hunger but I tend to respong early to his lip-smacking so think he doesn't get the chance! Although she's not going to give guaranteed spot-on results I do think she's on to something and it has helped me.
Good luck with your pregnancy & beyond! x

hi proops, great to hear that some of the sounds are working for you! as for the "neh" sound, yes, i think ur right, cos you respond to your baby quickly he does not need to say anymore, other than lip smacking!

this is my 2nd baby and i am as nervous as the first one!
