Hello

I am looking for a good abdominal support to wear after my c-section. Apparently, there are ones which are made for people who have tummy tucks. they are meant to provide support and help stomach to get back to normal quicker.

Recommendations anyone?

I wouldn't touch with a bargepole unless advised for medical reasons. Your wound needs to heal naturally. Wearing loose clothing and exposing your wound to fresh air as much as possible will help with healing, not wearing support belts or pants. It's also not true that wearing any kid of support afterwards will help your tummy to get back into shape, either. Only exercise (after allowing yourself to heal properly for at least 6 weeks) will do that!

i never thought of it that way, i guess i better ask my doc first! thanks

You shouldn't need anything to support you, it's better for your muscles to do it anyway, they're return to shape faster. Also what MrsMattie said, you need to keep the wound open to the air, I went commando for a couple of weeks (when I was at home) and only wore trackies to let the air get to it.

I had a CS and the thought of wearing this sort of thing makes me wince! You may be too sore to contemplate this!

the only thing i wanted to wear was huge granny - type knickers - that don't dig into the scar, mind you i'm a 'comfort first' kinda girl!!!

i bought one of those support belts and its still in its packaging unused. i never really felt the need for it tbh

the only reason you need ot wear one after a tummy tuck is not to help your muscles but to prevent a buid up of fluid so in the case of a c section this would not occur to the same degree anyway, and you probably will find it uncomfortable too

thank you all for your comments

i think i am off to shop for big knickers!
