had ds2 4 weeks ago and i have been doing pelvic floors during pg and after i had him. however i have noticed that erm after ive had a wee a tiny bit leaks out. Im worried there might be a problem as i never had this with ds1 2 years ago and wasnt very vigilant after ds1 with doing them but it all went back fine. Is it still early days or should i go doc? Am i not doing them properly??

i'd say early days, but this birth may have stretched you more this time. Sounds like you have quite a strong pf tho, if you didn't sustian any probs with your first.

I still have a little leakage my dd is 6 but i suffered 2/3 degree tears too.

had a 2nd degree tear with ds1 but a small tear with ds2 that didnt need stitches...

was 2nd baby much larger, or was birth more difficult in some way?

I am not an expert, but maybe things were just stretched in a different area? Prob very early days tho.

no he was lighter, and alot quicker. ds1 4 hours 7lb 7 and ds2 1 1/2 hours and 7lb 4

omg, such quick labours!! mine(my only) was 36 hrs!!!

can you go see the gp, you might have slight prolapse, but i am sure this will heal in time with excercise.?

I still have this a bit 10 weeks after birth but had same with first one and it did sort itself out eventually. Just keep up those pelvic floors!

still early days. mine were as good as they;ve got by about 4months. sometimes when i'm desperate for the loo i have to work at holding on, but have found that sucking in my whole stomach hard, really hard as well as clenching, like some kind of deranged student of posture school means i can hold on fine. guess that helps lift weight off the top of the bladder.

not that i was obsesed by this of course. just that i had to almost run between home and school for ds1 until about 8 weeks in order to use their loos before making the run back. gah.

mind you ds2 was 11lb11oz and 60cm long and i don't know how big his head was as i've kind of blocked that bit out...we had a shoulder dystocia. so i took a pounding.

merryberry · 17/12/2008 15:30

also had no prob with ds1. no idea about prolapse sorry

Remember it's still early days, so keep up your floor exercises and see what it's like in another couple of months.

Pilates is brilliant for your pelvic floor, if you want to take that up too.
