Homebirth after 2 pphs

Has anyone had a homebirth after 2 pph's? I was allowed one after 1pph but we then transfered to hospital & I ended up having another pph.
Both pphs have been due to rather large episiostimys so I & my DH are inclined to think that if I was left to labour naturally then I would have been ok.
Am going to have a doula who also has suggested that i would be better off at home. I have read lots about women having successful homebirths after1 pph but nothing about women who have had two & was looking for some success stories.

cheesemonster I had a pph with my first.I believed due to a mismanaged birth.

My second hands-off lovely birth in a pool was estimaed blood loss of 50mil.

So sorry, haven't had 2.

if it's of any help at all, I'd say you have to go with your gut instincts about what you want, if you're getting non-commital advice from the midwives/clinicians. I had a retained placenta op after DS very speedy delivery (back seat of car) and was worried about home birth (which I wanted) for DD a few months ago...I spent more time than I care to imagine trying to get expert guidance as to the likelihood of RP (and serious risk of PPH) reoccurring on a subsequent pregnancy and basically ended up with the answer that noone really could predict it - in the end, GP, midwives, and consultant said having one was no predictor of having another subsequently. I was booked for home birth, delivery was fine (if speedy) but I panicked when push came to shove (so to speak) and got myself to the local hospital. Turned out I did have trouble with RP and bleeding again... this is just anecdote, so I'm not saying my particular experience says anything other than I'd recommend with whatever your gut instincts tell you....so long as you're not flouting clinical guidance....and you can always change your mind at any point..blue light, allowing. Good luck

I am a huge advocate of HB.

Even I would opt for a hospital birth if I'd had 2 PPH's.

...can't quite believe I just typed that giving how anti-hospital birth I am, but there you are.

Can anyone tell me what a pph is please?

post partum hameorrage (spelling?) Basically blood less after giving birth in excess of what is 'normal' I lost about 800ml which was classed as a pph but i felt fine. Dh says he will never forget how much blood there was though. You can lose litres though and it can be life threatening. Personally I wouldn't risk having that sort of loss at home if I'd had it once before never mind twice.

'blood loss' sorry
