My friend has just been diagnosed with pp -
1st baby, grade 2, she's about 22 weeks - she's understandably terrified - has anyone got any advice? Any good websites, that don't go on and on about perinatal mortality etc!

Hi there
I don't understand the grade 2 comment but here's my penny's worth. With my first pregnancy, my routine scan at 20 weeks showed that I had a low lying placenta and that I would have to have a c section if it didn't move .Because of this, I was brought back in for a scan at 32 weeks. Luckily the placenta had moved out of the way (it then stays out of the way) and I no longer needed a planned caesarian and could go ahead with natural childbirth. Apparently it's quite common to have a low lying placenta early on, most of the time it moves out of the way before the birth...

A bit early for the praevia to be graded. As ouioui says it can be common for the placenta to be low lying at this stage and will 'appear' to move up as the pregnancy progresses. It doesn't actually move but appears to as the lower segment forms later on. No need to panic just yet.
