Gas and air

If i was to try gas and air and it made me sick how long would it take to get out of my system?

God I loved G and A!!!dp said he had never heard me talk so much and I sounded pished throughout labour!!!I remember being gutted when they took it away for the final pushes of my labour.

I heart G&A too, and think its why I am on my 5th child!

Infact, I may be having some later today, and I cant bloody wait!

i used g&a with both mine, although with ds, it was the only pain relief i had. and i must admit to having way too much of it. i was so spaced out i don't really remember much about ds's birth. in the end, the midwife took it off me but i broke the mouth piece as i wouldn't let go of it with my teeth

I loved it - in fact they took it off me in the end which I protested too

DH won't try it either.

I felt a bit funny the first breath - like being really drunk MD said that was normal so enjoyed feeling drunk for the first time in a LONG time

MrsTittleMouse, that is exactly my experience with the ol' gas and air. Didn't do anything for me! I'm going to tell the midwives not to even bother bringing any for my home birth as it's just a pain to lug in and have sitting around. I'd rather indulge in something a little more...green.

I have had 3 labours and I love gas and air Some slight nausea on first few puffs and then I am away.

With my first I actually bit through the mouth piece and ended up using 7 canisters... Terrible sore throat the next day though.

My second and third labours I combined it with pethidine. OMG the hit you get when the pethidine kicks in while you are sucking on gas and air is fantastic. I can safely say I was off my tree. Well worth the labour
