any tips for preventing early birth/going full term

This is my first post so I am a newby.. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good tips for helping you go to full term or preventing early birth. Both my sisters went no later than 36 weeks in all 4 cases. Most people I have spoken to have said there is little you can do, the baby will arrive when it wants to arrive. My reasoning is that I am not very good at relaxing and want to be in a good frame of mind (ie not at work!!) before I give birth.. and preferably have at least a few days of down time before the big event.

Anyway, thought I would give it a try!

Not sure there's a lot you can do, I'm afraid, but you might want to start your maternity leave a bit earlier in case?

Stress contributes to premature birth, so the best thing you can do is relax and try not to worry about it. Easy to say, I know!

I heard of someone who had this with earlier ones and was put on enforced bed rest from wk 32 by the hospital. Consequence one term baby. She said she was more exhausted by that than all the preemies.

I'd also say to start maternity leave earlier - I had dd at 35+5 (the day after my mat leave started!)

with ds I left much earlier, as early as poss, and he came at ft

also, make sure you don't have any UTIs as they can trigger labour (was treated for 3 when pg with ds)

Sorry....urinary tract infections, i.e. cystitis.
