So - hospital at 7.30am tomorrow. Boys at school for the morning and aupair working this arvo. What should I be doing today that I can't or won't be able to do from tomorrow for a while?

Go out for a nice meal? To the cinema?

sophiewd · 01/07/2008 08:48

Relax, we went out for a nice meal the day before my section.

sophiewd · 01/07/2008 08:49

Oh and good luck for tomorrow, I am 12 days post section and doing fine.

auntyspan · 01/07/2008 09:01

put your feet up and try and get some rest.... build up your reserves!

Good luck for tomorrow {grin]

WheresTheAuPair · 01/07/2008 09:03

buy some magazines and sit in the sun with your feet up! (preferably with a nice iced drink or ice cream to hand)

WidgetWB · 01/07/2008 09:17

anything that I won't be able to do constructive wise - I have done school uniform which I know is slightly in advance but they at MandS say it will run out in next three weeks so quite pleased I did that! Going on a picnic with boys for lunch as decided since posting (all of 10 mins ago) not to send them to pre school but to go for a picnic and then promise to put my feet up this arvo.

Any other miracle cures for afterwards? How do I feed it - like normal ie sitting up or lying down or what?

Do an online shopping order for lots of nice, easy-to-eat-one-handed goodies and instruct DH not to touch them! Then sleep for the rest of the day.

WheresTheAuPair · 01/07/2008 09:20

lying down feeding is the easiest-on your side. Get baby to lie down next to you as its much less painful than sitting and holding them. Good luck!

flamingtoaster · 01/07/2008 09:24

Your plan for today sounds good!

Painful wind can be a problem after c-sections (I've had two) - the best cure I was given was warm water with peppermint in it. I was then told to stand in the shower with warm water running down my back and massage my sides. It worked!

As for feeding I found a pillow across my lap to rest the baby on made feeding comfortable.

Good luck for tomorrow.

relax (i know easier said then done)...

get your hair done....

spend time with dh/dp

do something non baby related if poss....sit in the garden with a good book....

make list of things for dh/dp to do

good luck

cass66 · 01/07/2008 13:54

have a pedicure....

suey2 · 01/07/2008 14:05

...and a bikini wax: you will be shaved otherwise

Neeerly3 · 01/07/2008 14:08

get some arnica pills ready to take from tomorrow - helps you heal from the inside out.

AND REST!

MamaFormerlyKnownAsGlam · 01/07/2008 14:10

Get some body spray or take your nice perfume. I had the most terrible wind after my elec CS .

And tell everyone not to make you laugh. Why does everything seem so much funnier when it hurts to laugh? I'm specifically thinking of my room clearing farts post op.

And (premature but sincere, nonetheless) Congratulations. I'd say Good Luck but you won't need it.

Sal22 · 01/07/2008 14:32

Good luck for tomorrow, WidgetWB. My suggestion: go out for a nice cocktail (ok, mocktail then) if you've got someone to babysit tonight. And most importantly, take your time while drinking it!
