Anyone on here have an elective c section with first baby and how was the experience? Was it something you’d recommend and have again?

My baby was breach and not looking like he was coming any time soon and I was older. So yes it was called elective but it was also medical advice.
It was quick, uncomplicated, relatively painless - and after a night on morphine I was able to manage easily with paracetamol. Nurses were super and supported breastfeeding - initially it's hard to move- but I was out of hospital in a day or two and recovery was quicker than I anticipated.

For similar reasons I had a second one. It increases the risk of a normal birth though so a third would have been more risky if I'd wanted a normal birth. This wasn't an issue for me.

Everyone's situation is different, I'd not make recommendations. But in response to your question I'd like to offer reassurance about the experience. Biggest worry was the removal of the catheter - when it happened I didn't even realise they had done it!
All the best to you.
