Vaginal birth after 2 c sections?

I am only 9 weeks now so I have plenty of time to make a decision, but wondering if anyone has any experience with VBAC?
I had an elective section my last 2 pregnancies (last one was twins in 2025). I went to my booking appointment and the midwife doing it asked if I have considered trying a vaginal birth. This isn't something I have given much thought to as I assumed they'd recommend another section.
I absolutely do not want to be induced, but I'm considering a VBAC if I went into spontaneous labour (but maybe saying elective section if I haven't gone into labour by X point). Ideally having 3 young children already and limited family support, I don't want to be in hospital for days on end and I want to be able to recover quickly to do my usual things which I know would be slightly hindered by another section. But at the same time, if I don't go into spontaneous labour I'd be a bit stuck!
Anyone ever done a VBAC and how did it go? If I was to go this route I'd like to have minimal intervention and fussing etc I don't want to be restricted to a bed continually monitored etc but I know this would all depend on how the pregnancy goes. Just interested to hear others' experiences.

Had an unplanned vvac after a section for failure to progress. I had decided to have another section as devil you know and all that on the advice of an obstetrician who told me that only if I got to 4/5 electives would it start to become more high risk and even then, they'd just ensure a consultant was in attendance.

Waters broke spontaneously a second time, labour was progressing quickly and I was dilating. Too many other sections in a head of me so when theatre finally opened up I was persuaded natural delivery was only an hour or so away.
4 hours later, baby was stressed, forceps came out, DC2 was badly bruised and it was 16 weeks before I could sit without a cushion with a longer recovery time for continence and the rest that comes with second degree tears and massive internal bruising. Husband is convinced I was deliberately managed into a vbac, DC2 only delivered naturally as I was at 37 weeks and they were born at 5.5lbs and is still livid about it 13 years down the line.

Personally, I'd stick with what works for you. I felt a failure for my first section and I wish I'd stuck to my guns and not been persuaded into a "natural birth". I was fully recovered after 4 weeks with my first.

Ask some very specific questions. You have three children from 2 sections. I don't think you have a hope in hell of not being required to wear continuous monitoring in case of complications.

I guess it depends why your previous deliveries were by C-section, especially the one that was a single birth.

I had a friend who tried for a VBAC after 2 C-sections for labours that didn't progress. Same thing happened in the third labour and she had another C-section.

I know someone who had a very positive water birth vbac after two C-sections - I know one was for failure to progress, not sure about the other. I had a great induced vbac after one vaginal birth and one C-section for breech baby.
