After c section tummy tenderness pain

Hello, I had a planned c section 4 weeks ago and the scar is healing up fine but now I have a tender tummy, there’s one specific area just under my overhang, above my c section that is tender when I touch or put the shower head on it. If I hold my baby against my tummy it hurts or sometimes if I move and put pressure on it eg getting out of bed that area hurts. Has anyone else had this? Does the discomfort fade on its own? How long did it take? Or was there anything you took that helped? I am seeing health visitor tmo so wil bring it up. Thank you

Is it red or inflamed, hot to touch? Weeping at all? If yes to any then u need to go to ur gp.

I had this and should have went earlier about it. I went around 6/7wks. I had to get a swab sent off and then got antibiotics. It was sore for ages probably quite sore for a gd 2-3 months and then very slowly got better. Although honestly it was probably still tender a little bit sore for the best part of a year.

@tedibear thanks for your message. The actual c section scar looks like it’s healing well, no redness or weeping or anything.

Hi @Mummylove7890 congratulations on your new little one!
I had a c-section back in the day when you could hire a videographer to film the birth. Because of lawsuits I don't think it is allowed any longer.

I was experiencing tenderness by my incision on the left side. I was, of course, very concerned about this...until I carefully watched the birth video and saw what actually happens during a c-section. After the initial surgeon's cut, his assistant took a large spatula instrument, turned it backwards, stuck it in my abdomen and stretched the incision open very wide so there would be plenty of room to get baby out. My pain was exactly where the spatula had been inserted and pulled. It finally made sense as to why I was experiencing pain in that area....The skin, muscles, and everything in between had been stretched very far out of their normal position.
This was my experience, but it might not be the case for you. As you've mentioned, you are seeing your HV soon and they can check to see if there is any infection. I hope not, but it is a possibility.
Enjoy your baby!
