Section booked for tomorrow - toddler is ill!

Panicking! Especially with this super-flu going around. I have my section booked for tomorrow (19th) but toddler has been up with a fever, sneezing and clearing her throat!
Ive slept away from her last night but fear it’s too late and will be really hard to avoid her this next 24 hours. DH will probably catch it anyway. Stupidly didn’t get flu jab but got RSV

Do I postpone (if that’s an option) or just go ahead? Fear of having a cold/flu post c section sounds awful, and obviously don’t want baby to catch it. Any experiences?

What is the reason for your CS? That might dictate on whether you can postpone. Can you call the labour ward or your midwife and ask their advice? If baby needs to be born then baby needs to be born. Bless you - I really do feel for you. Hope someone with better advice comes soon.

Wishing you all the best for a happy Christmas with a squidgy beautiful newborn and a less snotty toddler.

My kids both had this a few weeks ago neither my husband or i caught it .
I would go ahead as your husband and you are well just now but if you reschedule you may be unwell.
Toddlers.often have a fever with a normal.cold .
Hope all goes well

Who is meant to be looking after your toddler when you have your CS

Who is meant to be having your toddler whilst you're having the CS? Will they still want to, or be able to look after them would be my first thought.

The second would be to consider why you were having the CS. Unless elective then presumably there is a reason they want baby out so I would be prioritising delivering the baby as planned providing you've still got robust childcare.

It’s an elective CS due to previous emergency CS. My BP hasn’t been great and there was talk of bringing it forward but managed it keep it under control with meds.
My mum is meant to be having her and don’t think she’d mind having her if she’s ill still.
