STRETCHMARKS........[sad]

hi there!

i gave birth to a little boy several months ago. whilst i was pregnant i put on nearly 2 stone. however i got unsightly stretchmarks. my stomach is covered in them and they are the deep ones not just faint little white lines, but also my inner thighs are covered in them! they all run down towards my knee and are bright red
i am happy to have my son and wouldnt change anything for the world but just wondered if there is anything i can possibly do to help disguise these stretchmarks. i cant wear shorts as they show on my legs, i cant wear bikinis anymore i just feel a bit down about having a haggered body and feel unnatractive and concious all the time. my dp says they are not an issue for him and its a small price to pay for what we have in return which i totally agree with but i just want to pick my self confidence up a bit.

is there anyone out there like me?! xx

There is stuff you can buy tho I don't know how effective it is and I suspect it costs a bit! Its called stretch mark repair (?) or something like that from Mama Mio. I read about it in a magazine a few months ago and it had good reviews. Otherwise, fake tan, sunbeds, back garden? not advising sunburn obviously, but a bit of colour might help them blend in? And I find a bit of colour on my extremely pale face does wonders as a pick me up, even if I have to keep other areas covered. Treat yourself to something nice, you've earned it.

i beleive there is actually a make up specifically for covering stretch marks so if you want to wear a short skirt or something youi can conceal them.
i would suggest using cocoa butter, though they will never go completely they will in time fade and you only had baby couple of months ago so they will still appear red at the mo but in time will go pale silver

They will fade in time. Mine looked like I'd been attacked by Freddy Krueger. My legs, stomach and breasts had thick, red, deep stretchmarks. 13 months post birth they're silver instead of red. I found losing the weight slowly, moisturising daily and toning up has helped enormously. They won't go completely but I'm happier with them.

They'll fade. It will take time (mine took a gfood 2-3 yrs to go silvery and some of the really deep ones are still pink-ish) but they will fade and in the meantime, as ghorrific a thought as it is now, you will get used to them and learn to licve with them. I wear my bikini with pride now and don't give a shite! Plenty of moisturiser and a bit of exposure to sunlight (not too much, just half an hour sunbathing here and there) helped me.
