C-Section at 10cm now told to have a cervical Stitch?

Hey, I had a c-section at full dilation with my son in 2024, they had to push him back up after a hour of pushing.
a year later we fell pregnant with my daughter, at 19 weeks I went into preterm labour and was told she wouldn’t survive labour and there was nothing that they could do as I was 4cm dilated with bulging membranes. We unfortunately lost her.

I’ve now been told it’s because of my c-section at full dilation. And I was meant to be given a cervical stitch to prevent this. Long story short has anyone gone on to have a full term birth with the second after a full dialation section? Did you have a stitch? I’m terrified this will happen again. I just need some first hand experiences.

They did mention the placenta had an infection when testing it but can’t tell if it was after birth or during which doesn’t help me.

I had an emergency section after getting to fully dilated with my daughter. I had consultant appointments with cervical length checks from 16 weeks in my second pregnancy. I didn’t end up needing to have a stitch, but I was on progesterone from about 20 weeks to 32 weeks because my cervix was a little short. My son was born prematurely at 35 weeks, but that wasn’t linked to my cervix.

Is your section scar low down? Mine is a lot below my bikini line and I was told with full dilation sections it should be above bikini line

Mine is just below the bikini line, I wasn’t aware that the location of the scar would change depending on whether you were dilated or not.

I had an emergency c section at full dilation in 2022. Last year I had an elective c section at 39 weeks. I had a cervical length scan at 20 weeks and all was fine. No stitch required or medication.

Yes! Apparently full dilation scar needs to be higher to avoid damaging the cervix, mine was very low so it’s caused damage, maybe I’m just incredibly unlucky!!

Did they say it could be a risk for preterm birth? they want to place a stitch as a preventative for my next pregnancy but I’m so worried I’ll lose agajn

I had a cs at full dilation and the incision is very low.

Nobody mentioned it being a risk next time beyond the usual risks. No talk of stitches or cervix checks. 2nd baby born at 36 weeks by emcs.
