How much can you influence your baby's position (breech etc) and from what stage?

Does your posture make a massive difference to how the baby lies?

I had a section due to breech positioning last time and am keen to avoid this again.

Can you influence your baby's position breech or head down/back to back or not?

And from what stage? Should I be sitting like a ballet dancer now at the end of my first trimester rather than slumping at my desk?

I have been told by the NCT teacher that from about 34 weeks you should be paying attention to your posture.
No slumping on the sofa.
Sit facing the back of a dining room chair and lean over the back.
Use birthing ball
Hang out on all fours for about 10 mins a day.
Lie on left side

Hope this helps

I am now 32 weeks and am starting to try to do these things

As well as the things mum2b1 has mentioned, reflexology is supposed to help and acupuncture to be highly successful at turning a breech baby, but I don't think you should worry about trying these until the last month or two, by which point a lot of babies will have turned on their own anyway.

Thanks both, this is really helpful - I am trying to sit up straighter anyway as I have a vague memory from NCT last time that it's better all round in pregnancy - but at least I don't have to fret quite yet if I forget!

My dd was back to back, from 34 weeks i did 'optimal foetal positioning' religiously and she did turn round .... but of course she might have done anyway!

Summer -what exactly did you do for this Optimal positioning?
Thanks

Summer could you remind me what optimal foetal positioning means as well please? Am so hazy from the first time around!
