Baby in unstable lie at 39 weeks! (4th baby)

Baby was breech yesterday - and I think either breech or transverse today. My midwife has scheduled an ultrasound for tomorrow am.

IF baby has gone head down again - I suspect the dr/nurse will say "that's fine" and send me home.... BUT

This baby moves all the time - he is a BIG baby - around 9lb we think - with a head over the 100th centile (big) and is completely back to back wherever he summeralts too!
I don't want an ecv and induction - I had a poor outcome last time I had an induction and was unable to get pain releif as they were too busy - it was pretty hellish and my baby had apgar 3 at birth and had meconium so needed suctioning, stomach washing and observation for 24 hrs following birth - almost endeed with an emergency section anyway.

I have also had unexplained bleeding the entire pregnancy (like a light period) - it's not my cervix - so we don't know what is causing this.

How do I convince the medical staff not to dismiss me and send me home with no plan to help in someway...Most of the time at hospital appointments for high blood pressure or sugar in urine etc - they don't even check the baby's position or take much notice of the bleeding (because presumably the scans show the baby is growing well despite it). I feel like everyone there is so relaxed about all this as it's my 4th baby - but I am really anxious and just want the baby out as fast as possible to conclude things as this unstable lie - will he stay head down - will I get a water birth or will they want to intervene stuff is driving me crazy!

I really hope the baby IS breech still tomorrow - and that they schedule a section, I'm so worried about going into labour with him in an unfavourable position and being at risk of cord prolapse because I live 45 minutes drive from the hospital. I know cord prolapse is rare, but less rare for transverse or breech babies. I don't want a breech birth due to his large head and because he's so big - I think it's not going to work out so well because of these factors - and also he's back to back.

I can't believe they're being so laid back tbh.
dc3 moved back to back when my waters were broken for my induction. Labour was very quick (1 hr 40 mins from waters breaking to baby arriving). I hate to say this but it was the worst 1 hr 40 mins of my life. I have never known such excruiating pain in my life and i honestly thought i was going to die with the pain. I can't put into words just how bad it was. BUT, i got through it and delivered dd safely and went on to have dc4 after her!
I wouldn't leave your appointment tomorrow without making someone understand and address all your concerns.
Good luck.

Thanks frazzledbutcalm! I am thinking of writing it down in a letter - to hand over to whomever I get to talk to - but am having trouble wording it without sound neurotic - perhaps I am a little neurotic! I'm 39 weeks pregnant, I'll blame my hormones a little, but I'm quite anxious as I just don't know what is the best way to get this baby out - and I am not keen on induction (had that with dd2, and it was horrendous - yes worst pain in my life - I needed an epidural but nobody could give me one - not becuase we were running out of time - the usual excuse, but rather they were just understaffed and overworked. I was asking for the epidural over a period of more than FOUR HOURS!!!)....
I think I want a section at this point - but they won't give one unless they're convinced that is the best idea.

My hospital notes are a mess - I've had sooo many appointments - it's hard for the staff to see the whole picture as they're not even in chronological order..., hence the need for me to write it down in order, and outline my concerns.

As far as the hospital staff can see - the baby is doing fine and I've had 3 "normal" deliveries.... but that's not a true picture of how it was for me - or the babies....

DD1 - forceps after 3 days of active labour...and now has learning difficulties of a type that could be down to her birth.
DD2 induced early for "unexplained bleeding in pregnancy"...apgar 3, possibly has issues with low muscle tone (according to one peadiatrician), another birth issue?
DD3 - waterbirth - straightforward. No problems.
ALL babies were back to back - so no labours were fast and it was jolly hard pushing their heads out - they all had fairly big 35cm heads too.

Ive been induced 3 out of 4 times and all were absolutely fine, good labours, no medical probs - please don't worry too much about induction, maybe yours was a one off. Induction does carry horror stories but all of mine really were fine. I think its a good idea you write everything down for your appointment, let me know how it goes. Failing that, talk to your gp and see if he can intervene on your behalf, and also call the health visitor or midwife to your house for a visit and chat.

Didilycious you are not neurotic, you are a very experienced birther, you have done it three times before that is more than most women manage and you should be given due respect for that. i would be worried too.

You know your body and you know how it is supposed to feel. be assertive when you write that letter!!

update on didylicious: currently in hospital as they don't want her waters to break at home to find out that the baby is transverse or breech. if no spontaneous labour by friday, then scheduled section.

i hope she won't mind me updating on her behalf.

total pain to be in hossie for so long, but at least she will feel safe now. thanks for the update.
