This is also my question! I'm 21 weeks and really want this baby to be in a good position.

Sitting on a birthing ball helps the baby get in a good position and a lot of pre-natal yoga positions work too. Try not to slouch back when sitting, sit upright as much as possible (even though all you want to do is lean back this can make the baby swing back to back for some reason). However, I did all these things and my ds was in the perfect position right up until I went into labour and then the little pickle decided to turn at the last minute! In that case try and keep on all fours as much as possible to incourage baby to turn. Good luck!

Oh, and you need to start thinking about positioning at 36 weeks

I had a childbirth preparation class with the physio today (17 weeks) and she said to get a gym ball and start doing the "right position" exercises now. I can't see that it does anything with the position of the baby at the moment, but I surpose it gets you into the habit of doing the exercises

thanks seabright - what excercises did she recommend?

all fours as if scrubbing the floor

also sit on a dining chair the wrong way so that the back is facing you
try to do 20 mins then rest then another 20mins
i was back to back with dd but fine with ds

Not sure if this helps but both of mine were back to back when I went into labour. Unfortunately that does mean longer, slower, more painful labours (don't want to scare you...sorry!) but whereas ds needed some assistance to get out, dd turned about half way through thanks to a clever midwife who got me lying on my rhs for a couple of hours. So it can be done, even at the last minute...

Thanks Filly

Last one was back to back and that is why I am keen to avoid this a second time round !!!!!!! (hurt like hell!!! )
