Good evening,
my partner gave birth 2 days ago. after given birth the midwife said that he was really sorry but he got medication mixed up and gave her syntometrine while the our baby was still in her. is there aanything to be worried about or any action that would need to be taken? thanks in advance.

you probably need to find out exactly what they mean if you're worried. It can be given before the whole baby's out.

Contact your local PALS and make a complaint. They have a duty of care to investigate and come back to you with their findings. I would also suggest submitting a Subject Access Request to find out everything that both DP and baby were given during and after birth. Good luck OP!

Hiya, it can be given if the baby's shoulder's are out apparently but my partner was only 4/5 cm. He said after that he is really sorry and that he was supposed to give pain relief but got them mixed up. the last time this happened was actually around 1978

He didn’t just say oops sorry and nobody else has had a conversation with you, surely?

His exact words were what i just mentioned plus I wouldnt blame you if you made a claim and that he has put it on the file with his supervisor. We mentioned it to the doctor to and they kinda did play it down but did say it is on file.
