I'm searching the archives but not having much luck. I know there are sites out there -ideally want something where I can just press a button that times everything for me while I ignore the whole thing .

Cheers

DON'T time contractions!!! check this out instead. Cover the clocks. Seriously!

Have a soak in bath or shower, get dh to give you a massage, dim the lights and get an early night. If it's not labour contractions will tail off and you'll get to sleep, if it is labour you need to have as much rest as possible but contractions will continue!

I'd say, call stepmum to come over as soon as timer shows any sign of things intensifying. Or if it gets more painful.

Maybe if it stays at this frequency / strength, then give yourself a couple of hours and then make the stepmum decision.

Hope all goes well. Will check in the morning!

ps. even the vaguest whiff of something happening is enough to make me jealous as there is nowt going on at my end

Not much chance of sleep tonight klaw DD2 is very croupy and will only settle for me (despite me trying to train DH in settling techniques!) she's been up 8 times so far - playing havoc with my timing 'excercise' the little rascal. Even less chance of a massage, bath sounds nice though.

It's my last labour, feel I ought to be making some sort of effort to do things by the book this time but I am 99% sure this will tail off tbh. I'm far too relaxed and this thread is a fantastic opportunity for me to prove my idiocy to those few out there who were still giving me the benefit of the doubt until now.

Klaw - as a first timer that link is excellent, thank you. Have just read it out to DH to remind me of it when things start...of course if I'm in real pain and he reminds me, he could end up in pain himself, but that's a risk he'll have to take!

Off to bed now, good luck BBM - will be thinking of you.

BigBadMouse · 26/05/2008 23:52

Well they are just sitting there at 4 minute frequency and lasting 1.05 - 1.25 mins and I've been timing for 2 hours

Don't think this is going anywhere...getting a touch of Deja Vu - and they say third labours are different eh?????

Thanks for all the advice and links - this is the one I used tonight and it was very good. You can use it and MN at the same time - does everything else for you .

BigBadMouse · 28/05/2008 19:33

Yay!!! That's fantastic news, CONGRATULATIONS BBM!

You made a whole new person and you're back on MN within 24hours, now that's what I call dedication.

  • actually, I tried to get on before but the hospital system would not allow access to the website due to it's content!

After a rant I had today on MN about a certain SW London hospital, I'm not suprised!

Now get off MN and go and enjoy your new DS or sleep!
