Sharp pains and lots of pressure 37 weeks

So this is my 2nd baby, had a scan today and babies head was ‘fully engaged’ which i thought i knew as last night i woke up with such an awful pressure feeling and ‘heaviness’ down there. Then since got quite stabbing / sharp pains in my vagina, and EVERY single step i take i feel so much pressure down there - like literally feels like the baby will fall out 🤣🤣🤣
keep getting random cramps, like the start of a mild period pain.
Would this be the start of labour for some??? i’m only 37 weeks, but i’m booked in for a c-section and i am absolutely not wanting it any sooner than my planned date if i can help it 🤣 (i know i can’t control much)
But i never had this with my first, so wondering if this CAN be how labour starts???

Yep!
my friend had this at 38 weeks- messaged me in the morning asking if thunderbirds are go 😂
it’s worth calling the hospital to get checked out- especially if you’re feeling period cramps

Please call the hospital. You are in labour.

Yep! Sounds like it's all happening!!!

My first hour of contractions were all stabby pains in my cervix.

Oh god no way!!! i was expecting the pains to be in my belly if it was ‘go time’!? oh christ. I’ll ring the mac unit and let them know! I’m actually praying it’s not haha…we shall see! Thanks everyone

I was like this from 37 weeks with my second until I gave birth at 41+2! It may or may not be things starting but worth talking things over with a midwife on triage to see whether they want to check you out. Good luck with it all!
