Third labours after EMCS and successful VBAC?

I'm pregnant with my third baby. I had an emergency section with my first due to poor positioning (and drip induction) despite getting to 10cm and a straightforward, spontaneous VBAC with my second. I intend to go for a second VBAC assuming no complications nearer the time.

Has anyone had similar experiences or happy to share stories of their third labours?

With my second, I was adamant that I would prefer an elective c-section over induction if needed. Now I'm not so sure given that I know that I can give birth vaginally. My c-section was a positive experience but it did make a difference with my toddler being more mobile after my second delivery.

TIA

If you’ve had a successful vaginal birth your odds on vbac are pretty strong!
I did a bit of research. Now going for my third c section (first elective) after two non successful vaginal attempts

Thanks for your reply. I definitely want to try for a VBAC again. However, I feel less sure this time around whether I'd be content to try an induction again if it came to it. After my first, I absolutely said no but recognise that I'd be unlikely to be given the drip again because of my past c-section plus now I know I don't have a pelvic issue etc that would never enable me to give birth vaginally.

And don't know how true the old wives tales are around third labours - the potential for them to be a bit crazy...

You won’t be allowed the drip; or any form of hormonal induction, because of the section. So you’d be having a balloon or rods induction, which are quite different.

I’d be induced if I’d successfully had a baby, I think. Neither of those methods seem anywhere near as bad as the drip.

Thanks. I think I need to do some more research around the non-hormonal induction methods and go from there. I'm still waiting for my VBAC midwife appointment so hoping that'll be helpful.

a few thoughts...
-IIRC the best predictor for a successful vbac is a previously successful vbac.
-all deliveries are different though - whatever mode of delivery you chose you only know it'll be straightforward after it was straightforward.
-some places do use the synto infusion cautiously for some vbac inductions.
-multip inductions if it comes to that can be very different to primip inductions.
-best bet is to talk to the team looking after you, who know your obstetric and medical history, how your current pregnancy is going and what the normal routines are at that centre.

My trust said the drip was a possibility when I was pregnant the second time.

Thanks, all good points.
